Description of primary duties and responsibilities:

Description of Work Continued:
Primary Purpose of the Position:

Fayetteville State University Broadwell College of Business and Economics is seeking applicants with credentials in entrepreneurship for a 9-month tenure-track position to begin in August 2024. Responsibilities include teaching courses in entrepreneurship (undergraduate and graduate), carrying out an active research agenda, and engaging in university and professional service. The selected candidate will help develop and expand existing concentrations and a minor in Entrepreneurship and enhance its visibility on campus and in the community.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Doctoral degree in Entrepreneurship or an Entrepreneurship-related field from an AACSB accredited university
  • ABDs will be considered if they have earned a doctoral degree in entrepreneurship or a closely related field from an AACSB-accredited school.
  • At least two to three years of teaching experience, as well as a capacity and willingness to teach a variety of Entrepreneurship courses.
  • A record of scholarly and professional accomplishments consistent with the appropriate (Assistant/Associate) rank, as evidenced by scholarly works to maintain AACSB Scholarly Academic qualifications.
  • A record of relevant non-academic entrepreneurial experience and/or project-based learning initiatives with local businesses is highly desirable.
  • Good citizenship in terms of service is critical, as is the ability to collaborate well with colleagues.

Knowledge skills and abilities:
A skilled and dedicated teacher with a student-oriented teaching philosophy who is willing to develop real-world and community projects.
Preferred Qualifications:
Appropriate academic credentials with entrepreneurial experience. Prior experience in serving as a student organization advisor, teaching a course/courses with project-based learning engagement, and working with/in/for an Entrepreneurial Support Organization.
