Moffatt & Nichol is seeking a Senior System Administrator to assist with the daily administration of the network and server infrastructure as well as provides advanced computer-related support to M&N employees in all geographical locations. The Senior System Administrator assists with the daily administration of the network and server infrastructure as well as provides advanced computer-related support to Moffatt & Nichol employees in all geographical locations. Computer-related issues may include software, hardware, and mobile devices. Support is provided to our end users through email, trouble tickets, and phone. This role must provide guidance to junior staff members. Additionally, this role will be an escalation point for junior staff members when they are unable to resolve a ticket.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Virtual Desktop Environment (VDI) Duties and Responsibilities
    • Become the lead subject matter expert in Desktop Virtulization deployments
    • Design, deploy, configure and patch Virtual Desktop environments based on organizational requirements
    • Implement and manage virtual machine images, including OS configurations and application installations
    • Provide technical support to end users of Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) systems
    • Monitor and maintain system availability in conjunction with VDI vendors to ensure optimization and efficiency of the system
  • General Duties and Responsibilities
    • Collaborates and troubleshoots with the Infrastructure team to resolve issues that negatively affect the virtual/server computing environment
    • Implement, maintain, manage and support infrastructure systems such as Windows Server, Active Directory, VMware environment, Zoom phone system, and others
    • Assist with the management, maintenance and production efforts of all backup systems
      • Druva, BackupExec, Avamar
    • Actively manage and monitor various security platforms,
      • Duo MFA, Sentinel One EDR, Microsoft Cloud App Security CASB, and others
    • Configure and manage Exchange Online and Microsoft 365 environment
    • Configure and manage Panzura environment
    • Acts as an escalation point or subject matter expert when required to address requests of complex difficulty
    • Provide end user support for various Intrastructure related systems, servers, network, VDI's, wireless, etc
    • Provide training and mentoring for the other IT staff members
    • Actively maintain our documentation and inventory using various software applications
      • IT Glue, Excel, Lansweeper, Active Directory
    • Assist with the management, maintenance and production efforts of a DLP system
    • Assist with implementing, upgrading and maintaining network infrastructure including Meraki switches, wireless infrastructure and firewalls
    • Assist with the maintenance and management of a network monitoring solution and respond to alerts as necessary.

Other duties:

The Senior System Administrator is responsible for providing advanced technical support to all Moffatt & Nichol employees daily. This includes break fix related work through end user submitted Help Desk tickets as well as project based assignments given by other members of the team. This role is an escalation point for tickets and projects. Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or comparable IT industry experience (minimum 15 years)
  • Experience managing two or more of the following technologies: Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, Cisco networking, Exchange, Office 365, Panzura, Zoom
  • Experience managing two or more of the following technologies: VMware, Citrix, Horizon, Hyper-V, Workspot, AzureVM
  • Proven track record of being able to work with minimal supervision to complete projects in a timely manner
  • All new hires will be required to successfully complete and pass a pre-employment (post offer) background check in compliance with NIST 800-171

Working conditions:

The Senior System Administrator will be required to work within normal business hours and will be required to participate in an after hours and weekend on-call rotation. This role will also be required to travel to domestic and international locations as required, less than 10%.

Physical requirements:

The Senior System Administrator must be physically capable of lifting up to 25lbs
