Insitu is looking for an enthusiastic and innovative Production and Repair Operations Manufacturing Engineer intern to advance the state of the art for Insitu's unmanned aircraft systems.

Tasks include:

  • Drafts and reviews production/repair work instructions for a subsystem.
  • Drafts, and edits Manufacturing Bill of Materials (MBOM). Collaborates with engineering regarding design for manufacturability concepts and limited specification requirements.
  • Designs, builds, and implements improvements on workflow ideas, fixture designs, and quality improvements for a subsystem. Compiles and evaluates test and production data, prepares technical analysis.
  • Designs sequence of operations and specifies procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment for a subsystem.
  • Adapts machine or equipment designs to factory and production conditions. Incorporates inspection and test requirements of a subsystem into the production plan.
  • Assists in inspecting performance of machinery, equipment, and tools to verify their efficiency. Assists production floor and assembly support personnel in technical matters relating to assembly drawing interpretation, engineering change notices, rework, manufacturing difficulties and specifications.

Qualifications

Have a minimum overall GPA of 3.0 and strong technical skills

Education

Candidates are required to be currently enrolled in Manufacturing Engineering or related studies at an accredited college or university, currently in their junior or senior year, or enrolled in post-baccalaureate degree studies.
