HOW WILL YOU MAKE CHANGE HAPPEN

The Project Manager is responsible for maintaining the progress, mutual interaction between staff and the vendor being monitored, and reporting on various tasks in such a way that reduces the risk of overall failure, maximizes benefits, and minimizes costs.
Start Date: July, 2024
End Date: 3 years with 3, 1-year extensions possible
Location: Tallahassee (preferred) or nearby - on-site at least 2-3 days/week

YOU WILL:

  • Plan, direct, and coordinatedaily project activities to ensure project goals and objectives are accomplished.

  • Establish work plan and staffing for each phase of the project.

  • Confer with the project staff to outline the work plan and to assign duties, responsibilities, and authorities.

  • Prepareproject reports for OLTR and management.

  • Plan, review, and evaluatethe work of subordinate professional and operational staff.

  • Reviewand evaluateproject and service delivery.

  • Developsystems and maintains records that provide for the proper evaluation, control, and documentation of all program activities.

  • Makerecommendations for hiring staff.

  • Provideexplanations, clarifications, and other communications with grantees, sub-recipients, contractors, OLTR staff, and other interested parties regarding all aspects of program operations.


IDEALLY, WE'D LIKE:

  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited university; relevant advanced degrees and/or certifications such as master's degree in a business or technical discipline are preferred.

  • Multiple years of professional level project/program management experience leading major programs or projects.

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred.

  • Ability to provide day-to-day direction, guidance, and decision making for operations involving Contractor services

  • Experience in hazard mitigation, housing, community development, economic development, construction management or related fields.

  • Experience with CDBG housing and/or FEMA hazard mitigation programs or similar programs/projects is preferred.

  • Must have the discipline to create clear and attainable objectives and to see them through to successful completion. The Project Manager has full responsibility and authority to complete the assigned project.

  • Ability to track project performance, specifically to analyze the successful completion of short- and long-term goals.

  • Experience with process improvement and inventory control.

  • Knowledge and skills in management and supervision, effective leadership, problem solving, oral and written communication, evaluation of project effectiveness, and management of multiple tasks.

  • Advanced time management skills which utilize high-level strategies that aid staff in managing time, productivity, and effectiveness.
