Qualifications

POSITION SUMMARY:

  • To provide quality case management and qualified professional support and services to inpatient social workers as assigned.
  • Works with local agency and service providers to facilitate sending and receiving collateral information, treatment referrals, and ongoing communications to support patient's successful inpatient treatment and discharge.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Experience:

A graduate of a college, or university with a Masters degree in a human services field and has one year of full-time, post graduate accumulated mental health experience with the population served and a substance abuse professional shall have one year of full-time post-graduate accumulated supervised experience in alcoholism and drug abuse counseling; OR A graduate of a college or university with a baccalaureate degree in a related human service field and has two years of full-time baccalaureate accumulated mental health experience with the population served and a substance abuse professional shall have two years of full-time post-graduate accumulated supervised experience in alcoholism and drug abuse counseling; OR A graduate of a college or university with a baccalaureate degree in a field not related to human services and four years of full-time, post-baccalaureate accumulated mental health experience with the population served and a substance abuse professional shall have four years of full-time post-graduate accumulated experience in alcoholism and drug abuse counseling.

Licensure/Certification:

  • Current North Carolina Driver's License
  • CPI Certification (Can be obtained after hire)

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Knowledge of developmental psychology and needs of various populations.
  • Knowledge of short term/stabilization mental health treatment.
  • Knowledge of systems theory.
  • Professional verbal and written skills needed for communicating the patient status and treatment needs to payers, families, professionals, paraprofessionals employees of the hospital, and members of the patient's community.
  • Ability to maintain professional records.
  • Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and high ethical standards
  • Ability to maintain professional relationships with patients, patient's family members, staff and community personnel.
  • Knowledge of appropriate assessments, diagnoses, and interventions with patients.
  • Knowledge of milieu management.
  • Skills in preparing and maintaining appropriate medical record documentation.
