Job Description

The Vomela Transportation Group has an exciting opportunity for a Inventory Supervisor to join our team. This position will be responsible for managing the overall operations of multiple departments. Responsibilities will include overseeing the work of Shipping Clerks, Inventory Clerks, & Receiving Clerks to ensure that all shipments, receipts, and interdepartmental transfers are handled efficiently, accurately, and timely.

The position will have ownership of the processes, KPI performance, and continuous improvements to provide a safe, quality-oriented, and efficient operation. This position will report to the Site Operations Manager.

Inventory Responsibilities

* Review system transactions for accuracy, completion, and process continuity.

* Review inventory receipts, job receipts, exceptions, and corrections.

* Oversee inspection, count, assembly, and bundling of products. Oversee shelf organization and accuracy of item locations and counts. Review and report low stock levels. Verify item count variances and dispositions.

* Verify, receipt, and distribute returned products either to inventory, disposition, or reshipment as appropriate.

* Coordinate with the Division Inventory Manager the continued counts of inventory items to satisfy the year-end audit process expectation of all items counted at least once in the calendar year.

* Coordinate with Division Inventory Manager oversight of staff and process of the quarterly count of all raw inventory items including digital inks/heads, screen inks, vinyl material, laminate, and pre-mask.

* Coordinate with Division Inventory Manager the preparation of finished goods, raw goods, and WIP for year-end review by an independent auditor.


Shipping Responsibilities

* Run daily ship reports and distribute them to directed parties. Print pick lists of scheduled stock pull releases for key customers and the balance of other programs.

* Attend daily production meetings at the beginning of each shift to review the ship report and discuss needs for the day related to incoming inventory products and outgoing product shipment. Communicate to lead associates the expectations and direction.

* Review and resolve matters related to lost shipments, damaged shipments, redirection, and tracking of shipments. Communicate information to vendors, customers, and sales.


Leadership Responsibilities

* Assign Inventory staff to inspect, count, assemble, and movement of products to shelves.

* Assign Shipping staff to stock pulls produce and ship orders packaging, and system processing of all UPS, FedEx, and LTL freight.

* Warehouse staff monitored for raw material receipts, PO receiving, and product organization.

* Oversight of staff training processes to ensure that team members are receiving proper training.

* Daily collaboration with other members of the management team.

* Updates and follow-ups with the Division Inventory Manager on any issues pertaining to inventory matters.

* Updates and follow-ups with the Production Manager on product needs for order fulfillment as well as quality issues found through inspections.

* KPI monitoring - a monthly review of on-time shipping performance, RMA lines assigned to the shipping department, and inventory variances and dispositions.

* Conduct bi-annual performance reviews of department staff for purposes of coaching, goal setting, goal achievement, and compensation determination.


What We Look For

* 5+ years of inventory experience in a similar environment

* 3+ years of supervisory and people management experience

* Proficient computer skills - Outlook, Excel, Word, MRP, etc.

* Lean Manufacturing experience preferred

* Ability to connect with diverse groups of team members

* Maintains composure under pressure

* An analytical mindset with strong attention to detail and a big-picture thinker.

* Outstanding organizational and problem-solving skills.

* Excellent communication and leadership abilities

* Experience UPS, UPS Worldship, Fed Ex & local regulations that govern the transportation of products

* Experience with international shipments is desirable

* Working knowledge of packaging tools and supplies including label printing

* Prior experience with shipping, receiving, or inventory software programs.
