About the Job:

The Claims Manager serves as the primary manager handling all client loss and damage claims for Odyssey Logistics. This associate will be solely involved with the entire Loss and Damages claims filing process for all MLS clients. In an enhanced timely manner, this position will also ensure accurate settlements and recommend solutions for conflict as necessary minimizing all legal risk, while managing accounts and personnel supporting these accounts.


In This Role, You Will:

  • Responsibility over Loss and Damages claims filing process for all MLS clients, including review of Non-Conformance Reports and Investigative reports.
  • Submit claims in a timely fashion pursuant to internal and client guidelines.
  • Maintain contact with carriers and clients throughout the claims process and resolve any issues.
  • Serve as primary contact on all claims.
  • Participate in quarterly claims reviews.
  • Maintain claim files, such as records of settled claims and an inventory of claims requiring detailed analysis.
  • Verify and analyze data used in settling claims to ensure that claims are valid.
  • Ensure settlements are made according to company practices and procedures.
  • Provide customer service, such as limited instructions on proceeding with claims or referrals.
  • Transmit claims for payment or further investigation.
  • Analyze information gathered by investigation and report findings and recommendations.

Qualifications

Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 1 year of relevant work experience.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is required.
  • Knowledge of claims loss process is a must.
  • Familiarity with logistics terms and NMFTA classification is required.
  • Understanding of TMS and SAP systems is preferred.
  • Ability to handle multiple claims (average 20-25) per day.
  • Knowledge of laws, legal codes, court procedures, precedents, government regulations, executive orders, agency rules, and the democratic political process.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good data entry skills

Location: This is an in-office role based in Charlotte, NC.
