Job Summary

The Lead Product Researcher will play a pivotal part in shaping and enhancing experiences across a diverse range of internal and external facing initiatives. This position involves spearheading research efforts to identify unmet needs and opportunities, devising comprehensive research plans, and leveraging actionable insights and feedback to influence the development of scalable and varied experiences. The successful candidate will bring a wealth of experience in independently designing and executing original research on both digital and physical products and services. Proficiency in applying research methodologies within an Agile software development life cycle and a tech-focused organization will be essential for optimizing product development outcomes. The Lead Researcher will possess a versatile skill set, encompassing a broad range of research methods, including qualitative and quantitative approaches, attitudinal and behavioral assessments, as well as generative and evaluative research techniques. Additionally, a commitment to inclusive and accessible research and testing practices will be integral to this role, ensuring that the resulting experiences are universally engaging and user-friendly.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leads and conducts strategic research with Lowe's customers and associates to identify product opportunities
  • Oversees the work of researchers spanning multiple product suites and across platforms, including near and long-term prioritization of research needs across their portfolio
  • Defines research methodologies, best practices, and user centered success metrics, ensuring execution to these definitions and standards across the UX and research team.
  • Partners with UX, Product, Tech, and Business stakeholders to drive refinement of touchpoints and experiences across user journeys
  • Works cross-functionally within Lowe's technology and the enterprise, ensuring key research findings are shared and key relationships are fostered across our Omni-channel partners
  • Advocate for researching findings by driving strategic conversations to influence ongoing research activities and product roadmap opportunities
  • Lead cross-functional collaboration with User Experience teammates and product partners to deliver timely, key insights and actionable research findings
  • Identifies and implements training opportunities to evolve the skill set of the broader team.
  • Contribute to growing and evolving the Research, Community Of Practice
  • Actively present and showcase research to a broader audience. Clear Reporting/Storytelling of research findings.
  • Stays current on best practice research techniques, and looks for opportunities to incorporate into the work of the product research team


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Anthropology, Psychology, Human-Computer Interaction, Human Factors, or related field (or equivalent work experience in a related field).

  • 7+ years of experience in UX Research or closely related field

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Anthropology, Psychology, Human-Computer Interaction, Human Factors, or related field (or equivalent work experience in a related field).

  • Portfolio submission that demonstrates work experience and deliverables (i.e., how your research informed decision-making, ideally in the digital products and services industry)

Pay Range for CA, CO, HI, NJ, NY, WA: $111,600.00 - $212,000.00 annually Starting rate of pay may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, position offered, location, education, training, and/or experience.
