Portfolio & Pricing Strategy Manager

About the Role

Portfolio & Pricing Strategy Manager is responsible for developing the marketing mix of our brands, establishing portfolio plans and setting the pricing strategy for all product categories. Assesses strategies and initiatives based on sound data analysis to take advantage of changing consumer and market dynamics. This position incumbent will be working very closely with Sales & Finance colleagues to collaborate and lead the planning & strategic management of JTI USA annual sales allowance budget and other activation tools to support the business to achieve annual company's objectives. The incumbent's focus will be on developing pricing and promotional plans for JTI USA products while ensuring corporate, financial and sales objectives are met. Other responsibilities include supporting the Head of Marketing for A&SP and LE planning & reporting. The role will also support the team by leading, coaching and motivating colleagues to achieve their business and development objectives.

What you will do
  • Support the Marketing Director to build portfolio business strategies for all portfolio categories (RMC, OTP, RRP). Responsible for price positioning, portfolio mix and multi-channel brand activation. Based on changing market dynamics, propose and adjust marketing strategies to achieve corporate targets;
  • Build product and packaging strategies. Lead the development and execution of all brand rejuvenations, LEPs, insert, onsert, product innovations for all categories (RMC, OTP, RRP). Responsible for PMTA process deliverables, follow ups and coordination with legal, SRA, global functions;
  • Develop state level buydown investment strategies that align with state prioritization and price gap targets understanding the source of business and key competitive brands. Prepare and deliver compelling sales allowance resource allocation proposals for the senior management team, & support the Head of Sales for A&SP and LE planning & reporting;
  • Maintain an ongoing, thorough understanding of the competitive dynamics in each state including key competitive brand trends, wholesale & retail selling prices, competitive price gaps and trade promotion tactics. Develop monthly sales forecasts (KPI's) by state including store counts, volumetrics and splits for independent vs. chains, tracking actual vs. forecast to obtain continuous learnings to improve performance and/or shift resources;
  • Liase with global brand teams (LD, RRP) to ensure the compliance and alignment between local strategies and corporate guidelines. Engage & collaborate with key internal stakeholders in order to gather relevant information to develop appropriate strategy and tactics to achieve company objectives (Finance & Sales). Measure efficiency & effectiveness of resources with a focus on continuous improvement of ROI;
  • Recruit, motivate and guide the professional development of the team reporting directly and indirectly to the incumbent. Coaches, mentors, motivates and supervises team members influencing them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work;
  • Manage various tasks and projects as they arise and upon manager's request.

Who We Are Looking For

A dynamic, passionate, and result-oriented person, with:

  • 6-10 years experience in FMCG marketing and sales functions;
  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing or related field;
  • Proficiency in English with excellent written and oral communication skills;
  • Strong business acumen to understand consumer and competitive dynamics to build solid marketing plans;
  • Ability to translate data to adaptable strategies that take advantage of changing market place dynamics. Strong time management, people and communication skills;
  • Strong working knowledge of RMC business, trade practices & programs;
  • Proven track record of demonstrating high-level strategic thinking and business opportunities identification skills;
  • Strong financial acumen & critical thinking;
  • Advanced analytic skills with the capability of extracting key learnings & business insights from data;
  • Budget management, forecasting, development of KPI's & performance measurement monitoring;
  • Strong work ethic with effective verbal & non-verbal communication;
  • Ability to communicate assertively/persuasively to defend business rationale and decisions;
  • Self-started, strong organizational & leadership skills to lead cross-functional projects;
  • Advanced Microsoft skills (Excel & PowerPoint).
