Job Summary and Responsibilities

Summary: Position Summary: As an End-to-End Engineer for our OSP FTTh project, your primary responsibility entails overseeing the complete lifecycle of engineering implementation, encompassing permitting, engineering tasks, and project close-out. This position demands meticulous attention to detail, adept self-production coordination, and a thorough understanding of OSP engineering principles.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

Permitting:

    Support with local authorities, municipalities, and regulatory bodies to obtain necessary permits for construction and installation of fiber optic infrastructure.
  • Ensure documents are within compliance with all relevant regulations, codes, and standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of permit applications, approvals, and any associated documentation.

Engineering:

  • Design and/or update OSP engineering documentation, including fiber optic cables, conduits, poles, and associated infrastructure, using industry-standard software and tools.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop detailed engineering plans, considering factors such as route optimization, cost efficiency, and scalability.
  • Conduct site surveys and assessments to identify potential obstacles or challenges and propose effective solutions.
  • Prepare detailed construction drawings, schematics, and specifications for implementation.

Close-Out:

  • Oversee the final stages of project implementation, including acceptance testing, quality assurance, and documentation.
  • Ensure that all project deliverables meet quality standards and customer requirements.
  • Facilitate the handover of completed projects to the operations and maintenance teams.
  • Conduct post-project reviews to identify lessons learned and areas for improvement.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related experience.
  • Strong understanding of fiber optic network design principles, construction practices, and industry standards (e.g., GPON, NEC, NESC).
  • Proficiency in CAD, GIS software and other engineering tools.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams, external stakeholders, and regulatory agencies.
  • Proven track record of successfully completing complex projects from initiation to close-out.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on delivering high-quality results within defined timelines.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in SPIDAcalc and SPIDAmin software suites is preferred.
