Position Summary
These services will include, but are not limited to: provide intense monitoring and academic support for student-athletes, assist with student-athlete specific course registration, assist in the academic coaching of student-athletes for designated assigned sport programs, develop and oversee programming/initiatives/events, participate in recruiting visits with prospective student-athletes, and other duties as assigned.

The Coordinator will interpret, analyze and monitor the academic progress of student-athletes; assess student-athlete overall academic performance and its impact on progress toward graduation and NCAA eligibility; maintain knowledge of all NCAA and University rules concerning academic standing and eligibility requirements.

In addition, the Coordinator will also be responsible for assisting the Assistant AD for Student-Athlete Support Services (SASS) with the coordination of Student Development and implementation of the Spartan Shield Program. The coordinator will serve as the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) Advisor.

The candidate will possess a passion for the holistic development of student-athletes. The candidate must be detailed oriented, have excellent communication skills, and meet deadlines.
Minimum Qualifications
  • A Master's degree, or a bachelor's degree and an equivalent amount of education and experience is required.
  • One to two years of related experience is also required.
Additional Required Certifications, Licensures, and Certificates
Preferred Qualifications
  • A Master's degree is preferred.
  • Previous experience in student-athlete development, counselor education, teaching or athletic academic advising at the University level is preferred.
