Accounting Manager Job Summary

Oversee accounting and financial reporting for the Corporate segment including U.S. and Bermuda holding companies, assist with the preparation of Company SEC filings.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervise the work of a staff accountant to include accounts payable, bank reconciliations, and recurring journal entries.
  • Lead monthly close process for the holding companies - preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, review of trial balance, financial statement preparation including analytics.
  • Prepare quarter-end financial reporting packages and analytics.
  • Assist with the Company's SEC filings - preparation of financial footnotes, document tie-outs, XBRL review.
  • Participate in budgeting, forecasting, and other special projects as needed.
  • Adherence to Company internal controls and accounting policies.
  • Provide client assistance as needed for internal and external audits.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Experience and Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience
  • CPA or CPA candidate preferred
  • Property and Casualty insurance experience a plus
  • SEC reporting experience a plus
