RLO Summer Student Assistant Job Description

Residence Life Office (RLO) seeks 3-4 assistants for Summer 2024.

The Summer 2024 - RLO Summer Assistant will primarily complete projects in support of office operations both in the RLO office and in the halls/apartments. RLO office hours are 9 am - 5 pm with an hour lunch break between 12 pm - 1 pm.

The summer assistants will assist professional staff and student staff leaders with a wide variety of projects including RLO office-based projects (filing, sorting, designing posters/signs, organizing program supplies and storage), front desk coverage and projects within the halls such as collecting and cleaning/fixing vacuums, minor furniture assembly, doing inventories, putting up/taking down signage, checking fire extinguishers, assessing residential spaces, and more. The position includes ample time in both the halls/apartments and the RLO office depending on the day and the projects in need of completion. The RLO golf carts may be used, as available, for many summer projects (students must have a valid driver's license).

If you have fall semester responsibilities (e.g., fall in-season athlete, Orientation Member, RLO Fall Student Leader, etc.,) please let us know what date you believe your planned August responsibilities/pre-season camp may begin.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Salary is $14 an hour with housing (single Chidsey room) provided during the time of summer 2024 employment. Work week hours can flex down during quiet times but average between 30 - 35 hours a week.
