Job Description: | |||||||||||
This position is contingent upon contract award. The Safety Manager is responsible for the management and administration of the safety program to ensure a safe and compliant work environment to include modification of safety-related activities and plans to specific contracts in compliance with federal, state and local regulatory requirements. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Responsibilities: * Develop and maintain applicable safety and health procedures and practices in compliance with corporate, state, federal and local regulations and contract requirements. * Promote occupational safety programs, procedures and activities. * Promote an OSHA compliant culture throughout the organization. Facilitate safety process development, implementation, and compliance of all subcontracts. * Manage safety audit program for contract locations to ensure compliance with various contractual, regulatory and company requirements. * Participate and support integration at the site level to address site-related safety, quality, health and welfare to include environmental concerns. * Provide guidance to managers and supervisors to assist in the interpretation and compliance of safety and health-related contract requirements. * Coordinate investigations for injury, property damage and vehicle incidents to ensure thorough investigations and appropriate root cause identification. * Conduct special evaluations and internal safety and health surveys/audits. * Compile reports and findings of surveys and audits for review and make corrective action recommendations and tracks to closure. Manage work site safety operations. |

Requirements: | |||||||||||
* Must have a BS in a Safety related safety/ environmental related field or equivalent applied field experience within safety and quality control aspects. * Training in safety/environmental courses, seminars, or certifications, i.e. OSHA 10 and 30 General and Construction, Hazwoper. * Experience with the operations and maintenance of military equipment such as weapons and vehicles. * Must be knowledgeable of OSHA, DOT, and NFPA Regulations. * Professional safety training and 3-5 years' experience in demanding and diversified safety environments. * Accomplished written and oral presentation skills in developing safety training materials. * Hands-on experience in emergency response or investigation. * Required to maintain a SECRET clearance.
