Position Summary
The Department of Genetics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is seeking a new research-track faculty member with a strong record in population genetics, statistical genetics, genetic epidemiology and high dimensional genomics research, involving diverse populations. This 12-month full-time position is open at the Research Assistant Professor rank.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Applicants must have a Ph.D. degree in biostatistics, statistics, population genetics or a related discipline and experience commensurate with the (Research) Assistant Professor rank.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
The specific research focus of this search is genetics (including population genetics, statistical genetics, and genetic epidemiology) and multi-omics integration in individuals of diverse and/or admixed genetic ancestry. Preferred candidates should be able to demonstrate a track record in each of these areas and publication in the field. Prior experience in neuro-degenerative disorders (particularly Alzheimer's disease and related dementia) and chronic kidney disease is preferred, as well as strong collaborative experience. Prior experience in mentoring students from diverse background (including Biostatistics, Genetics, and/or epidemiology) is also preferred.
