Position Description:
Ryerson has an opportunity for a Service Center Operator position. As a Service Center Operator you are responsible for ensuring the material meets a customer's expectations by checking the size, finish, and accuracy of the finished product.

This position is third shift. The hours for this position are Sunday through Thursday from 11:00pm to 7:00AM.


Roles and Responsibilities:

* Safety is a priority - you will learn proper safety measures via online and in-person training
* You start the day reviewing production orders then preparing your material for processing
* You will use a crane and/or forklift to move material for outbound shipping
* Check to make sure your machine and station is in working order and identify any issues.
* You will keep your work area clean and ensure that all workplace hazards are reported immediately
* All other duties as assigned or duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time with or without notice

Position Requirements:
* This position is safety sensitive and requires operating a forklift and/or overhead crane. Successful candidate must be able to operate heavy machinery.
* Ability to pass physical requirements exam for vision and hearing, as well as mobility and lifting requirements
* Successful completion of the Ramsay Corporation Combined Basic Skills Assessment which evaluates your reading, math, inspection & measurement, and process monitoring & problem-solving skills
* Regular attendance, including being on time and ready to work at assigned start time.
* Great attitude and team player
* Ability to work assigned overtime, at times with short notice
* Ability to find, enter, and print information on a computer as necessary
