Job/Internship Description

The Summer Interns are current Davidson College students* who serve as representatives of the student body for visitors to our campus throughout the summer. Beyond offering in-person and virtual tours of campus, along with information sessions, they respond to inquiries from prospective students and families, manage various internal office databases and processes, and perform other duties as assigned. Expectations include, but are not limited to:

  • Work 7.5 hours daily, Monday through Friday. Schedules may be flexible depending on the nature of work, summer hours, etc.
  • Assist the admission and financial aid staff with programming such as Admission Intensives, New Student Conversations, Virtual Faculty Panels, and the McNab Admission Program.
  • Conduct daily tours from early June through late August. Tours will be in-person and virtual, but all interns will be based on campus. Summer Housing will be provided.
  • Maintain contact with prospective students and families throughout the summer.
  • Assist individual staff members with a variety of admission projects related (but not limited) to diversity and access initiatives, data analysis, campus visit and event planning, and social media and communications.
  • Exercise the professional and ethical standards that coincide with the character of Davidson College.
  • Summer Interns are articulate, poised, self-confident, warm, and generous of spirit. A willingness to be a flexible and adaptable team player and to serve Davidson through hard work is essential. Experience as an admission tour guide is not required.

*Recent Davidson graduates from the Class of 2024 may also apply, but may not be guaranteed on-campus housing.

A student conduct check for all Admission & Financial Aid Summer Intern applicants will be facilitated by Carley Dix, Title IX Coordinator, Section 504 Coordinator & Compliance Officer. After the check is conducted, the Office of Admission & Financial Aid will be notified as to whether a candidate has been approved to interact with minors and we will communicate your status to you if you have not been approved.
