Job Description: C++/ Operations Research Scientist- Transportation Planning

Location: Dallas, TX Office (Hybrid) - fully remote work is not available for this role

Overview: Blue Yonder, a leading supply chain software company, is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Staff Operations Research Scientist to join our team working on the Transportation Planning product. As a Staff Operations Research Scientist, you will lead the development and implementation of advanced optimization algorithms and data-driven solutions to revolutionize transportation planning for businesses worldwide.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and drive the research and development of cutting-edge optimization algorithms for Blue Yonder's Transportation Planning product.
  • Utilize C++ and CMake to design and implement high-performance software components.
  • Apply CPLEX and other optimization libraries to solve complex transportation planning problems at scale.
  • Collaborate with product managers and software engineers to understand business requirements and formulate mathematical models.
  • Integrate Operations Research techniques and Machine Learning algorithms to enhance product intelligence and decision-making capabilities.
  • Conduct in-depth data analysis to gain insights and identify optimization opportunities in transportation data.
  • Implement and utilize Prometheus for monitoring and performance analysis of developed algorithms.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and deployment of optimization solutions.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in Operations Research, Machine Learning, and optimization technologies.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior Operations Research Scientists and software engineers.

Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience in developing and implementing optimization algorithms for transportation planning or similar domains.
  • Proficiency in programming languages like C++ and build automation using CMake for software development.
  • Strong background in utilizing optimization libraries such as CPLEX for solving large-scale optimization problems.
  • Knowledge of Operations Research techniques and mathematical modeling for supply chain optimization.
  • Experience with integrating Machine Learning algorithms into decision-support tools is a plus.
  • Familiarity with monitoring and performance analysis using Prometheus or similar tools.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with a focus on delivering innovative solutions.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities to work effectively in a cross-functional environment.

Education:

  • Master's or Ph.D. in Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field.

The salary range for this position is $85,469- $123,765

The salary range information provided, reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual salary will be commensurate with skills, experience, certifications or licenses and other relevant factors. In addition, this role will be eligible to participate in either the annual performance bonus or commission program, determined by the nature of the position.
