We are pipelining candidates for a future role. ***Contingent upon Contract Award***

Valiant is seeking a Sr Environmental, Health, & Safety Engineer I for W-TRS. Potential locations could include: California, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Kansas, Louisiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Carolina, North Dakota, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, Washington, Korea, and potential additional CONUS locations.

Responsible for the management and administration of safety field operations and programs to ensure a safe and compliant work environment to include modification of safety-related activities and plans to specific contracts in compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain applicable safety and health procedures and practices in compliance with corporate, state, federal and local regulations, and contract requirements.
  • Promote the implementation of occupational safety programs, procedures, and activities.
  • Promote the current OSHA compliant culture throughout the organization.
  • Facilitate safety process development, implementation, and compliance of all subcontracts.
  • Manage safety audit program for field to ensure compliance with various contractual, regulatory and company requirements.
  • Participate and support integration at the site level to address site-related safety, quality, health, and welfare to include environmental concerns.
  • Provide guidance to managers and supervisors to assist in the interpretation and compliance of safety and health-related contract requirements.
  • Coordinate field investigations for injury, property damage and vehicle incidents to ensure thorough investigations and appropriate root cause identification.
  • Conduct special evaluations and internal safety and health field surveys/audits.
  • Compile reports and findings of surveys and audits for review and makes corrective action recommendations and tracks to closure as required.

Mental/Physical requirements for this role include:

  • Ability to lift a minimum of 15 lbs. and wear appropriate personal protective equipment as appropriate.
  • Ability to perform duties in extreme weather conditions (heat, cold, wind and rain) and at height.
  • Willing to work a flexible workweek.
  • Must have or be able to obtain a valid state driver's license and maintain post driving privileges.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening and background investigation.
  • This position may require travel to other installations and other WTRS locations throughout CONUS and OCONUS.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in safety, Health or Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Engineering or related role or demonstrated equivalent combination of education and experience in a safety professional role. 10 years' experience in occupational safety role.
  • Strong Communication skills.
  • US citizenship is required. Possess an Active Secret US Government Clearance or ability to obtain a clearance.

Desired Skills:

Previous Army Training Aids, Devices, Simulators, and Simulations (TADSS) experience highly desired
