Plant Manager, Energy Solutions

Status: Exempt (Salaried)

Department: Energy Solutions

Position Summary

The Plant Manager, Energy Solutions is responsible for facilitating all production and logistics demand of Plug Power's Liquid Hydrogen Production facilities and Liquid Hydrogen transportation assets. In this position, you will interact with the development, project, engineering and operations teams, technology providers, suppliers, permitting agencies, contractors, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure facilities are built and commissioned, and startup activities are completed on time and within budget. This individual is vital to support Plug Power technology to further the company's reputation as the industry leader in hydrogen applications development.

Core Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ideate and implement strategic visions to create and improve production, quality, and labor utilization throughout the facility
  • Provide the leadership needed to ensure effective utilization of plant personnel and equipment
  • Collaborate with functional departments in the implementation of all continuous improvement activities
  • Investigate and implement innovative methods of manufacturing processes to reduce costs and improve quality of the product
  • Apply lean manufacturing principles to design, specify, and validate world-class manufacturing processes to achieve organizational goals
  • Plan, direct, and coordinate all manufacturing operations of production, machinery, processing, and packaging departments
  • Ensure that all process line schedules are in accordance with facility capabilities, customer requirements, economic performance, and planning, expediting as needed
  • Direct and manage the establishment and maintenance of material replenishment methods, quality standards, and performance metrics in support of the organizational goals and objectives
  • Budget and manage manufacturing cost structures by developing and maintaining operational expenses within budget allowance, and investigate cost-reduction measures
  • Create documentation protocols and ensure that all operations records are properly maintained and reviewed
  • Oversee daily plant production as well as plant inventory
  • Coordinate and maintain data integrity of plant data for plant operations
  • Maximize efficiencies for plant maintenance and operations
  • Travel as required up to 25%

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, Business Management, or Supply Chain Management from an accredited institution preferred
  • Five (5) or more years of relevant work history with Plant Management.
  • Minimum prior experience with gas processing, cryogenics, ASU, LNG and/or refueling systems.
  • Experience with balance of plant work for a new construction project preferred.
  • Experience in or working with Renewable Energy (wind, hydro, or solar); or with Liquified Hydrogen/Helium Manufacturing Processes and Electrolyzers preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Demonstrated analytical abilities with strong attention to detail.
  • Superior written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to manage complex projects and multi-task effectively.
  • Experience in leading and/or coordinating cross-functional teams.
  • Must be a team player with a customer-oriented mindset.
  • Must be driven and self-motivated.
  • Must possess the highest ethical standards and a commitment to work quality.
  • Ability to travel as needed to carry out duties of the position - up to 25%.

Pay Rate:

$96,800.00 - $154,900.00
