Kleinfelder has an exceptionally strong portfolio of Client relationships in the Mining and Energy sectors that is driving our ability to further grow and diversify our business. We are seeking an experienced Environmental Permitting and Planning (EP&P) Team Lead to join our Team in the Georgia/Carolinas Area.

The successful candidate will lead a team of staff performing wetland and other natural resources surveys, environmental permitting, and natural resources planning activities for a variety of projects primarily for our mining, and oil & gas Clients. The position requires team leadership, project management, business development, and client engagement in support of our clients in Georgia, and the Carolinas.

This position may be based out of Atlanta, Charlotte or Raleigh and includes the potential for partial remote work. Some overnight travel may be required for this position.

The ideal candidate should demonstrate:

    Experience with environmental permitting at the local, State and Federal levels for projects in Georgia/Carolinas.
  • Strong project management, team leadership, organization, and technical writing/communication skills;
  • Excellent problem-solving skills;
  • Ability to engage team members and foster collaboration across various regional offices,
  • Seller-doer mentality able to engage Clients, deliver value and generate additional opportunities;
  • Ability to effectively engage directly with Clients and Agencies
  • Robust regulatory and agency expertise in Georgia and/or the Carolinas a plus;
  • Ability to effectively manage, drive, deliver and review proposals and reports; and,
  • Experience with oil & gas and/or mining.

All candidates require:

  • BS in Environmental, Biological, Ecological Science, Environmental Policy or related field; Masters in a relevant subject area is a plus;
  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant environmental consulting and/or agency employment experience in the region.
  • Project and Team Management experience.
