Summary:
The Manager of Spiritual Care leads a team of clinical professionals in the provision of spiritual care and support to team members, patients and their families in a 24/7 hospital environment. This leader performs broadly for the organization as a consultant and educator in spiritual care.
Responsibilities:
*Hires, leads, coaches, and develops an assigned team of clinical pastoral professionals in the provision of routine and crisis spiritual care and support to team members, patients and their families in a 24/7 hospital environment.
*Assists with the development of a departmental budget and administers spending within its defined limits.
*Designs, organizes, and delivers a bereavement program for team members and the community.
*Collaborates with the interdisciplinary care team to serve the needs of the patient population. Consults with staff regarding specific patient needs and concerns.
*Develops collaborative relationships with staff, as well as organizational and community leaders.
*Builds and delivers educational and/or outreach programs in support of spiritual care. Develops relationships with leaders and staff. Educates team members on diverse topics such as ethics, bereavement, resilience and spiritual wellness.
*Documents clinical assessments and interventions in the electronic medical recordkeeping (EMR) system. Assists patients with spiritual care requests, including contact and coordination with their faith communities and community resources. Facilitates completion of their advanced directives.
*Collaborates with stakeholders across the organization in support of strategic processes, committees and initiatives as a representative of the spiritual care team. Educates patients, team members, and community members on advanced care planning.
*Participates in scheduled on-call rotation, including nights and weekends.

Qualifications
Required
*Board Certified Chaplain status as administered by the Association of Professional Chaplains (APC). This status requires a Master's degree in Divinity (M.Div.), Theology or Spirituality or other relevant field from an accredited seminary or university.
*Minimum of 3 years prior experience as a staff chaplain in a hospital setting.
Preferred
*Minimum of 2 years prior experience in a pastoral management capacity
