Job Description
Plans, directs, and monitors preventative and corrective maintenance
and repair activities so that the Organisation's buildings, facilities,
machinery, and equipment operate reliably. Plans, prioritises,
schedules, and manages maintenance activities to rectify breakdowns and
malfunctions and minimise business disruptions.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Lead equipment incident and breakdown investigations through remote monitoring tools and/or inquiring with equipment user/operator to define precise area of breakdown.
  • Remotely monitor Container Handling Equipment (CHE) and CHE related assets and collaborate with Maintenance Coordinator to respond, resolve, and follow up on notifications of breakdown either remotely or by Equipment User generated notifications.
  • Manage breakdown response teams by prioritizing operational impact and ensuring a rapid restoration of equipment function.
  • Apply proper procedures for unplanned (breakdown) maintenance, suggesting enhancements (where appropriate), minimizing time to repair, and restoring equipment to safe and functional condition.
  • Ensure details of all equipment breakdown events are recorded in the Work Order system.
  • Manage documentation of specialized insight into equipment failure characteristics and methods of repair.
  • Leverage data, such as equipment costs, speed, and effectiveness of the breakdown response in developing department strategy.
  • Analyze breakdown related KPIs and exception reports, taking timely action when KPIs indicate it is needed.
  • Collaborate with other managers, supervisors, and technical staff to drive down maintenance costs and optimize the breakdown maintenance response and processes.
  • Promote continuous improvement and constant drive towards incident free operations with reducing unplanned equipment outages.
  • Enhance and promote best practice in strategy and the routine scheduling of maintenance work activities by communicating learnings and reporting discrepancies in maintenance procedures and guidelines.
  • Support an ongoing review process for the standard operating procedures and guidelines for equipment reliability and breakdown management, which will support APMT in sustaining safe operation of all terminal equipment
  • Exercise management authority to promote total-terminal success in accordance with the leadership's strategic vision, including optimization of work processes and efficient manpower utilization.
  • Promote good working relationships with customers, vendors, terminal management, and Unionized workforce.
  • Effectively communicate and coordinate with other Transportation and Logistics business units to support the APMM Group strategies and vision.

CRITICAL QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

Necessary to perform the requirements of the position:

  • Education - Minimum four (4) year degree from an accredited college in electrical, mechanical or related subject at similar level, or equivalent working experience of five (5) years in Terminal Operations or facility management related environment
  • Experience - Five (5) years multi-discipline experience of maintenance & repair for a range of port terminal or heavy industrial equipment is strongly preferred. Two (2) years' experience of emergency response, diagnostics, and breakdown repairs of port terminal or similar heavy industrial equipment is preferred.
  • Accountability - Ability to set operational plans with short-term impact by maintaining standards that lead to high performance and execution
    Agility - Ability to modify important changes rapidly, multi-task, meet aggressive deadlines, and demonstrate ability to effectively communicate in high-pressure situations; continuously look to standardize processes and procedures to further develop team members, and standardize best practices to be shared globally
  • Collaboration - Ability to exchange and adapt skills when working together across boundaries internally and externally; understand customer processes that affect terminal business and drive the change to better support terminal needs; proactively seek opportunities to further support operations departments to center their attention on day-to-day operations.
  • Functional Excellence - Broad knowledge in job area/discipline or expertise in a specific discipline; lead, inspire, innovate and motivate a team into consistent performance improvement; translate raw information into actionable strategies and initiatives, perform analyses such as performance, competitive and market analyses.
  • Passionate - Drive to continuously understand and innovate various aspects of our industry as they pertain to APMM business needs. Ability to continuously motivate and develop a diverse team covering all departments of terminal operations.

Job Type: Full Time

Salary: USD 100,000.00 - USD 140,000.00
