Responsibilities
    Work as an extension of NCDOT to review hydraulic designs at all levels of project development.
  • Develop and deliver design solutions for a wide range of transportation related drainage, stormwater and water resources projects including collection systems and analysis of storm drainage features, Floodplain analysis for hydraulic structures and FEMA compliance, Stormwater Control Measures and Sediment and Erosion Control Best Management Practices
  • Assist in the delivery of design, plans, specifications, technical reports and analyses so that the project scope, schedule, cost, and quality requirements are met.
  • Participate in proposal responses, client meetings, and scopes/estimates.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an accredited four-year college.
  • North Carolina Professional Engineer license (PE) or the ability to obtain North Carolina Licensing within 6 months of employment.
  • Strong background using hydrologic and hydraulic modeling and design software such as Microstation/GeoPak/OpenRoads, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, HEC-2, TR-55, StormCAD, SWMM, SRH-2D, etc.
  • Familiarity with NCDOT plan preparation criteria and design standards.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work independently and with large multi-discipline engineering teams is important.
  • Affiliations with professional societies and industry and community involvement are desirable.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
