Minimum Qualifications | Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology; CCC-SLP; eligibility for North Carolina licensure in speech-language pathology; three years experience working with adults with speech, language, cognitive, swallowing, and voice disorders; two years experience with clinical supervision of graduate students. |

Essential Duties and Responsibilities | The primary purpose of the within the in the is to provide clinical services (evaluation and treatment) to individuals with speech, language, voice, and swallowing impairments resulting from a variety of disorders and to provide clinical training to students in the . This person reports to the Chair of the RHS Department, who also serves as the Clinic Director of the Communication Disorders Clinic. The clinic is affiliated with the but reporting lines are through Rehabilitation Sciences and the Beaver College of Health Sciences.
Provided services of the Clinical Educator include: the evaluation and treatment of adults who have a variety of speech, language, voice, and swallowing disorders; the evaluation and treatment of medically complex pediatric patients with feeding and swallowing disorders. The essential duties and responsibilities involve the assessment and treatment of adults with communication, voice, and swallowing disorders. Additional opportunities to assess and treat medically complex pediatric patients with feeding and swallowing disorders. Interaction with other disciplines (social work, occupational therapy, music therapy) in an inter-professional clinical setting. Some classroom teaching is possible but voluntary. On-call coverage at Watauga Medical Center is required one weekend per month for additional pay. |
