Qualifications

Ensures the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering transactions.

* Prepares and records asset, liability, revenue, and expenses entries by compiling and analyzing account information.

* Maintains and balances subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, reconciling transactions, resolving discrepancies.

* Maintains general ledger by transferring subsidiary accounts; preparing a trial balance; reconciling entries.

* Summarizes financial status by collecting information, preparing balance sheet, profit and loss, and other statements.

* Documenting and monitoring internal controls in support of auditing team.

* Assists with the preparation of the annual budget and provides monthly departmental budget to actual analysis.

* Assist with external and internal financial and Sarbanes Oxley audits.

* Coordinating more complex accounting projects and initiatives with other members of the accounting and finance team or with other departments

* Avoids legal challenges by complying with legal requirements.

* Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.

* Trains and mentor's junior staff

* Reviews journal entries and reconciliations of junior accountants

* Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree is required

Master's degree is preferred

Required Skills:

Bachelor's degree in accounting with five years of experience in financial statement preparation, month end closing. Experience utilizing excel to prepare pivot tables, vlook ups, calculations and advanced excel techniques.

Bachelor's degree in accounting may be waived with 4-year degree in related field and applicable accounting experience. Previous health care experience preferred.
