Job Description

RK&K is hiring experienced Roadway and Bridge Inspectors to support our Construction Engineering and Inspection ( CEI ) team in the Asheville, NC area

Essential Functions:

The ideal candidate for this position will work independently with North Carolina Department Of Transportation ( NCDOT ) and contractors while being responsible for:

  • Work on various roadway and bridge projects within the region's geographic area
  • Oversight of contractor's quality control operations
  • Quality Assurance sampling and testing
  • Completion of Daily Sampling and Testing Reports
  • Data input in SiteManager/LIMS
  • Daily communication with client, contractor, and field project personnel

Required Education, Skills and Experience:

  • 2 years of prior experience providing inspection services
  • Candidates must be trustworthy and responsible
  • Must have a solid background in mathematics
  • Understand how to read and follow test specifications
  • Excellent driving record

Preferred Education, Skills and Experience:

NCDOT Certifications as followed:

  • NCDOT Erosion & Sediment Control Level II
  • NCDOT Introduction to Asphalt Pavements
  • NCDOT QMS Roadway Technician
  • NCDOT Concrete Field Technician
  • ACI Concrete Field Technician
  • NCDOT ABC Sampling Technician
  • NCDOT Borrow Pit Sampling Technician
  • NCDOT Conventional Density Technician
  • NICET Certifications
