Certified Firefighter

A Certified Firefighter is a dedicated and highly trained professional responsible for protecting lives and property from fire and other emergencies. This role requires a commitment to public safety, quick decision-making, physical agility, and the ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations. As a Certified Firefighter, you will serve your community by responding to various emergency situations, including fires, medical emergencies, hazardous materials incidents, and other additional life safety responsibilities specific to an Influx Care Facility (ICF).

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Estimated Starting Salary Range for Certified Firefighter:
  • Pay commensurate with experience.
  • Full-time benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, and other possible benefits as provided. Benefits are subject to change with or without notice.

Certified Firefighter Responsibilities Include:

  • Responding to onsite ICF emergency calls promptly and efficiently.
  • Extinguishing fires using various firefighting equipment and techniques.
  • Providing medical assistance and first aid to individuals in need.
  • Operating and maintaining firefighting equipment and apparatus.
  • Conducting fire prevention and safety inspections.
  • Participating in training and drills to enhance skills.
  • Collaborating with a team to execute firefighting and rescue operations.
  • Communicating effectively with local emergency response agencies.
  • Complying with safety regulations and departmental policies.
  • Assisting in maintaining fire station and equipment readiness.
  • Performing other job-related duties as assigned.

Certified Firefighter Experience, Education, Skills, and Abilities requested:

  • Completion of a certified firefighter training program.
  • State or nationally recognized Firefighter I and II certifications.
  • Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or Paramedic certification is preferred.
  • Strong physical fitness and agility.
  • Ability to work in high-stress and physically demanding situations.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Willingness to work in shifts and respond to emergencies at any time.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal
