Job Description

The Warehouse Lead is responsible for supply chain management in the warehouse and will work closely with the Warehouse Supervisor/Manager to ensure operational excellence. The duties include but are not limited to material handling and order fulfillment, shipping, receiving, and inventory control. Strong attention to detail, adaptability, and a willingness to work in a collaborative team environment are skills that will support a high level of success in this position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Read customer orders accurately to identify part number, quantity ordered, and location.
  • Locate and select specific inventory items to fulfill orders.
  • Visually inspect orders to ensure accuracy prior to shipping.
  • Responsible for loading and off-loading of trucks.
  • Maintain proper inventory control and housekeeping in the warehouse areas.
  • Follow procedures to safely operate Material Handling Equipment (MHE).
  • Help drive Operational Excellence by performing tasks in a timely fashion while simultaneously minimizing risk.
  • Pick and receive Manufacturing Orders (MOs).
  • Assist Central Fill team with coordinating deliveries.
  • Complete a daily forklift inspection check.
  • Maintain a clean and safe warehouse environment with daily sweeping and trash removal.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
  • Move materials to correct destination using forklift or pallet jack.
  • Build and execute cycle counts on a weekly basis.
  • Enforce company policies and procedures, safety standards, and good housekeeping.
  • Provide feedback to Warehouse and Inventory Manager when inconsistencies are observed.
  • Focus on continuous improvement opportunities within the operation.
  • Meet deadlines and goals as established by Site Manager.
  • Ability to learn and perform all warehouse processes.
  • Monitor inventory of all applicable warehouse supplies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills and Experience

  • 3-5 years of experience in warehouse logistics
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Problem solving skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Experience operating warehouse equipment, such as forklift, electric pallet jack, and manual pallet jack.
  • Strong computer skills including use of MS Office programs
  • Previous experience with ERP and CRM systems; experience with Great Plain, Aras, and Salesforce preferred
  • Safety Focused
  • Team player with high problem solving and technical aptitude
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a valid driver's license prior to employment

  • This position will be subject to mostly controlled but potential varying internal environmental conditions, including changes in temperature and noises that are within acceptable safety levels common to a warehouse environment.
  • Work may involve long-term standing, sitting and frequent walking throughout areas such as warehouse, assembly or machine shop as well as navigating common hazards related to these areas.
  • Must be able to carry, lift and push/pull up to 30 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Must have the ability to see, smell, hear, talk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel and twist, crouch, crawl, reach, grasp, sit, stand, and walk.
  • Weekend and overtime work may be required.
  • Additional physical duties may be required as necessary.
