Jump start your career with Butterball! The Information Technology Intern is meant to provide an encompassing experience through a variety of projects that support our business within the IT Cyber Security department. You will work with the Cyber Security team to apply a various amount of technology and process acumen to keep the organization safe and secure.

What you will do:

Responsibilities-

    • Learn security processes by reviewing daily alerts with the Security Team
    • Learn the skills to work with and troubleshoot security issues via worldclass security applications used by many companies; ex: Tenable, SPLUNK, Proofpoint, Microsoft, Cisco Secure Endpoint, KnowBe4, etc...
    • Utilize the GRC tool to help document and mitigate risk
    • Mitigation of vulnerabilities via scripting and application deployment
    • Participate in reviewing output from risk assessments and documenting system security plans and policies.
    • Monitor computer networks for security issues.
    • Investigate and remediate cybersecurity incidents.
    • Install security measures and operate software to protect systems and information infrastructure.
    • Work with our network engineers to troubleshoot and analyze network issues, including TCP/IP and related network hardware.

What you already have (examples below, requirements of the position, mixture of both hard and soft skills):

* Currently seeking a Bachelor of Science/Arts degree in Cyber Security or a similar field.

* Self-starter. Comfortable with working independently while providing timely and accurate status reports.

* Ability to work with the customer in difficult situations by balancing technical knowledge and people skills.

* Strong business acumen - ability to understand the impact of IT on different parts of the business.

* Strong multi-tasking abilities, along with ability to work well under pressure.

* Prioritize and meet tight deadlines.

* Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and learn quickly.

* Exhibit strong written and verbal communications skills.

* Proficiency in troubleshooting technical issues.

* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Windows OS.

* Proficiency in and Networking a plus

* Has actively participated or held office in a campus or community organization (preferred but not required)

  • This internship will be located preferably at our Garner, NC office.
