Position Summary
The UNC Department of Psychiatry is seeking a board eligible/certified physician to help in the evaluation and management of emergency room patients presenting with behavioral health concerns. The psychiatrist will be involved in diagnostic evaluations, treatment recommendations, and medication management of patients presenting. This would be an onsite job in the UNC Hospital Emergency Room and require some shift work but primarily be days.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
MD or DO; board eligible/certified psychiatrist.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Experience working in the emergency room. The ideal physician would be comfortable working and supervising a multidisciplinary team of clinicians working to the full extent of their licenses to help coordinate care of behavioral health patients.
