Minimum Qualifications
*Master's degree
*One year experience working within Student Affairs or Higher Education. (Two years of GA experience is equivalent to one year full-time)
License/Certification Required
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Student Affairs, Higher Education, Counseling, or related field
  • Full-time experience working in college housing
  • Experience working with Maxient and/or StarRez software
  • Crisis and case management experience
  • Experience with Student Leadership
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Responsibilities | The Coordinator position is a highly visible member of the university community who interacts across divisional lines and works collaboratively with many segments of the university. This is a live-in position, meaning staff members are provided a furnished apartment, meal plan, and upgraded reserved parking space. When available and approved, Coordinators receive departmental support for professional involvement and travel. There are 9 Coordinators on the Residence Life Team, along with 13 Graduate Assistants, 3 Assistant Directors, 2 Administrative Professionals, and the Associate Director

Student Leadership
  • Serve as the full-time advisor for Student Leadership Conferences
  • Supervise the GA for Student Leadership who advises NRHH and RHA
  • Oversee Student Leadership Meetings, coordinate Housing Community Updates
  • Oversee banquets and recognition
  • Assist with the management of the Student Leadership Neighborhood Associations
  • Work with existing student leaders to recruit, select, and train future student leaders
  • Meet individually with RHA and NRHH executive board members as appropriate
  • Lead semester goal-setting sessions for Student Leadership
  • Guide budget development for RHA and NRHH and oversee the purchasing and budgets for these organizations.
  • Ensure Student Leadership web site content is current, useful, attractive, and accurate
  • Coordinate monthly Student Leader Presidents and Departmental Leadership Meetings
  • Serve as a liaison between RHA and other institutional and external entities

Training and Development
  • Coordinate student staff evaluations
  • Assist with Residence Life Trainings and Development Initiatives
  • Lead and coordinator training and development sessions for student staff

Student Conduct
  • Assist with the day-to-day management of on-campus conduct violations
  • Work closely with GAs and Coordinators on responding to incident reports
  • Oversee case distribution levels for GAs and Coordinators
  • Communicate regularly with staff in the the Office of Student Conduct and serve as a liaison between departments

Crisis and Case Management
  • Participate in a rotating weekly on-call system providing emergency assistance to staff and approximately 6,300 residents, including over university breaks
  • Provide leadership to staff and students during crises in the residence hall and in the greater campus community
  • Become familiar with and follow institutional and departmental guidelines regarding emergencies
  • Review all incident reports and documentations and refer appropriate incident reports to the Office of the Dean of Students
  • Serve as hearing officer for first and second-time University Housing and Code of Conduct violations
  • Serve as a case manager for student concerns and intervention within the area of responsibility
  • Clearly communicate, interpret, and enforce department and university policies to staff and students
  • Ensure staff members are appropriately confronting and documenting behavior issues and concerns
  • Serve as a resource or referral for students and staff.

Residence Education
  • Be accessible, visible and present to students in the building and area
  • Provide educational and social activities in order to minimize campus behavioral issues
  • Develop collaborative relationships with campus partners

Administrative
  • Complete regular assessment and evaluation in areas of job responsibilities
  • Serve on departmental and division work groups, task forces, and committees
  • Along with the Residence Life team, develop and assist in achieving University Housing department goals
  • Attend staff training and professional development events in University Housing and Student Affairs
  • Attend and participate in Residence Life meetings
  • Meet weekly with a direct supervisor, Assistant Director of Residence Life
  • Develop and complete a professional development plan
  • Post and maintain office hours as required by the supervisor
  • Work with a variety of technology tools and platforms including Google Suite, StarRez Housing Management Software, AiM Work Order System, eRezLife Software, Maxient Student Conduct, Engage Software, etc.
  • Complete summer responsibilities including, but not limited to orientation, and special projects
