Assistant Treasurer

Introduction

Reporting directly to the Vice President of Investor Relations and Treasurer, the Assistant Treasurer will play a key role in leading the global Treasury team with a focus on improving cash flow, managing risk, and safeguarding assets.

The Role

Leadership

  • Lead the global treasury team, coach and develop team members, and foster a positive and proactive team-oriented environment

Cash Forecasting & Investing

  • Standardize the global direct cash flow forecast by improving process, analytics, and reporting
  • Implement variance analysis process to determine which items in the forecast drive the largest discrepancies with a focus on improving the process
  • Identify opportunities for increased cash flow generation
  • Implement improved reporting related to balanced sheet and cash flow metrics
  • Oversee cash flow assumptions utilized in long-term cash flow forecasting
  • Partner with the tax department to identify potential repatriation opportunities while analyzing minimum operating cash balances
  • Perform ad hoc scenario analysis to determine liquidity in various business situations
  • Support implementation of new forecasting system with emphasis on cash flow and balance sheet items
  • Implement and oversee global cash investing strategy and policies

Treasury Operations

  • Establish procedures and ensure controls are in place for all treasury functions globally
  • Oversee intercompany settlement process and maintain appropriate cash balances in respective bank accounts globally while optimizing foreign bank balances
  • Ensure the company is in compliance with its credit facility and long-term debt covenants
  • Optimize global cash structure and oversee bank account administration
  • Responsible for global Treasury systems and bank connectivity

Capital Markets

  • Responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with the company's current and prospective banking partners
  • Lead capital markets activities such as analyzing and recommending capital and debt structure, securing short term and long term financing and negotiating credit agreements
  • Manage share repurchase activities such as obtaining appropriate approval and working with select brokers to execute the program

Additional Treasury Responsibilities:

  • Oversee Treasury risk management with focus on foreign exchange and interest rate risk management
  • Monitor financial market and counterparty credit risk and effectiveness of foreign exchange and interest rate hedging programs
  • Analyze treasury banking activities and report on bank economics
  • Support quarterly earnings with focus on Treasury related topics
  • Manage company's defined benefit and defined contribution retirement plans including participation in governance committees and plan oversight in partnership with 3rd party partners

The Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree with a focus in business, finance, accounting, or other related focus; MBA, CFA, Masters of Finance, or CTP desired
  • Prior experience in Treasury at a global organization with knowledge of best practices in cash forecasting and risk management
  • Ability to effectively build relationships with internal and external partners
  • Verbal and written communication skills
  • Analytical skills with experience in financial markets and cash forecasting
  • Lifetime learner with a passion for developing both professionally and personally
