About the Department | The mission of the NC State Department of Athletics is to prepare student-athletes to compete at the highest level and to inspire them to be leaders now and for the future by providing the best environment to achieve their athletic, academic and personal aspirations as well as providing support for the professional development of our coaches and staff, all within the role of the greater institutional relationships to the University. This position will serve in the Athletic Communications Dept. for North Carolina State University Athletic Department which competes as a NCAA Division I team in the Atlantic Coast Conference. Athletics Communications Department designs, writes and produces all media guides, news releases and other printed materials. They report statistics and information to ACC and NCAA offices. Coordinate and respond to all media inquiries. |
Essential Job Duties | The Director of Communications is responsible for creating media awareness, working to extend the brand and message of NC State University Athletics and producing digital publications and publicity. The position will serve as the primary communications contact for the Wolfpack's top-five women's basketball program as well as one other Olympic sport. Primary responsibilities include:
