Job Description:

CES, as part of a "Full Potential Plan" (FPP) initiative, is driving to transform Covanta from a sustainable energy company to a leader in sustainable materials management. This role partners with the CES FPP Lead in the successful planning, executing, and reporting to Covanta's ELT and Board of Directors for all workstreams related to the FPP. The specific workstreams include expanding customer relationships in existing markets, expanding into new markets, entering new lines of business, and building entirely new capabilities across CES to enable us to achieve these bold new objectives. CES' FPP program is expected to contribute >$100M in EBITDA and be a primary driver in growing revenue to $1B by 2026.

The Sr. Manager is instrumental in creating and organizing cross-functional project teams and directly facilitates problem-solving with leadership to achieve each individual workstream objective and, in turn, the objectives overall FPP program. The Sr. Manager assembles and partners with the CES FPP lead in delivering updates to the ELT and Covanta senior leadership team.

Job Duties:

  • Partner with FPP lead and CES Senior Leadership Team in defining the FPP Program Deliverables, to include Deliverables, timeline, and resource requirements.
  • Partner with FPP Lead and Senior Leadership across both CES and broader Covanta in assembling cross-functional teams to define, plan and execute each FPP workstream that is approved by the Covanta's ELT.
  • Develop a tracking tool to measure deliverable completion and Sales & EBITDA contribution for each workstream and overall FPP Program.
  • Contribute content expertise to various FPP workstreams related to CES and Covanta Operations, Sales, Customer Care, business process, and technology.
  • Set and facilitate project update meetings for each workstream under the FPP Program. Travel to CES and Covanta locations as needed to build and maintain relationships and to directly facilitate problem-solving.
  • Drive problem-solving within individual workstreams both by contributing directly and by identifying and bringing in appropriate internal and external resources to solve problems.
  • Hold project owners accountable for execution and work directly with deliverable owners and up the chain of command as needed where project deliverables are not being completed on time and/or on budget.
  • Assemble bi-weekly FPP Program progress updates to be delivered to Covanta's Executive Leadership team.
  • Present along with FPP Lead quarterly FPP program updates at Covanta's Quarterly Business review meetings.
  • Directly or through team resources perform data analysis to support workstream deliverables
  • Serve as Sales and Operations Program lead for CES working directly with the S&OP Director and team.
  • Track and report on any other significant CES change management initiatives that fall outside of the FPP Program.
  • Manage direct reports that perform project management and data analytics.

Job Requirements:

  • 10+ years of Operations, Sales, or Customer Care Management experience in Waste, Recycling, or Environmental Services industries
  • Undergrad degree required; advanced degree preferred
  • Travel up to 25%
  • Strong analytical, project management, and presentation skills
  • Strong MS Office (Excel and PowerPoint)
