Who you are

The Data Engineer will be responsible for building and managing highly optimized data processing frameworks that support the strategic business objectives of Colliers US. This candidate will bring diverse experience in data engineering to create optimized and reliable data pipelines as well as mastering and reporting solutions.

What you bring

  • Intermediate to advanced ETL experience and skills (3-5 years of experience)

  • Data modelling experience, particularly understanding how to find keys in tables to facilitate joins ( 3- 5 years of experience)

  • Intermediate to advanced ETL/ELT tools such as CloverDX or Talend.

  • Intermediate MS SSIS scripting

  • Intermediate MS SQL Server Stored Procedures

  • MS SQL Server database management, as in building tables and basic tuning

  • Data profiling and data quality assessment skills

  • MS Azure platform experience with Data Factory and Data Pipelines

  • Physical data modelling skills, for both new design and reverse engineering existing databases

  • Strong technical problem solving skills

  • Good written and verbal communication skills for coordinating development across teams

  • A drive to learn and master new technologies and techniques

Bonus skills and experience

  • Experience with MDM software solutions would be an asset

  • Experience with programming language such as Node.js, R, Python, Java, etc is a plus.

  • Experience in Commercial Real Estate

What success looks like

  • You have the ability to work with technical architecture and design teams throughout the organization, including external vendors, to turn requirements into solution deliverables.

  • You successfully conduct technical requirements reviews with design teams to make sure there is clarity of deliverables and to recommend improvements.

  • You develop full pipeline ETL applications to move data within a corporate data management platform, with both MS Azure and MS SQL Server tools.

  • You design, develop and build solutions, sometimes on your own, utilizing internal and external resources to assist or answer questions if needed.
