Sr. Manager, Program Management for Enterprise Tech Backlog

As a Sr. Manager, Program Management for Enterprise Tech Backlog you will manage and support high priority projects and programs for the company. You will collaborate with smart and passionate leaders to influence results that have a direct impact on the company's bottom line. From problem solving across departments and levels -- to facilitating meetings and driving alignment on plans -- you'll have a wide range of duties to keep progress moving forward. The ideal candidate can partner and deliver in a challenging and fast-paced environment. Additionally, the candidate needs to be skilled in managing stakeholder and customer expectations, while concurrently maintaining delivery momentum. The role requires a well-rounded individual who is comfortable adjusting their approach to meet unique needs across multiple stakeholder groups within a complex organization.

What You'll Do:

  • Manage intake and prioritization of strategic intent with our line of business partners, coordinating across job disciplines

  • Partner with division engineers and leads to build 'shovel ready' intent, assess automation opportunities and align to overall architecture standards

  • Partner with Tech Divisions to develop longer term roadmaps to assist in build-out of consolidated roadmap for tech organization

  • Collaborate with all levels of the organization to monitor and manage the critical path, plan contingencies, facilitate scope changes

  • Report on program and feature delivery progress, managing escalations and impediment resolution in partnership with Division teams

  • Build and maintain high trust relationships with partner teams across Capital One to keep abreast of current strategies and manage work in progress

  • Achieve results with complex, multi-disciplinary projects

  • Be a collaborative team player with the ability to navigate and influence the organization

  • Be comfortable establishing relationships across levels within the organization including senior leadership

  • Understand customer expectations.

  • Strong analytical, interpersonal, collaboration, communication (written, verbal, and technical), presentation, negotiation, influence and problem-solving skills

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or military experience

  • At least 5 years of Project or Program Management experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree or an advanced certification (CSM, CPO, SAFE)

  • 7+ years of experience in project, program or portfolio management

  • 4+ years experience in financial services
