Position Description
The Emergency Department Technician I will be responsible for assisting medical and nursing staff in providing care for patients of varying age and acuity level. Care of patients is directed by the RN or medical professional. Critical thinking skills are necessary to provide prompt and proactive care under the supervision of the RN. The ED TECH I must work in a collaborative fashion with EMS and Physicians to provide quality care in the continuum of patient care. In addition, effective communication skills are essential between the ED and receiving departments and floors to provide optimal patient care. The ED Tech I routinely performs some or all of the following tasks: EKG Phlebotomy Splint Application Crutch Walking Assist with procedures as directed CPR Supply Management Wound Care General Clerical as needed

Position Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Previous Emergency Department Tech experience is preferred or a background in medical field, premed, or nursing student.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) is required.
License/Certification Requirements: Yes
Work Hours: 7p-7a
Weekend Requirements: Yes
On-Call Requirements: No
