Description of Work | Teach courses in sound recording / music technology. Job responsibilities include teaching undergraduate Music Technology courses including Digital Musicianship on Digital Audio Workstations not limited to: Logic, Pro Tools and computer-generated composition as well as live sound production. Other duties include maintenance and supervision of the In-House Recording Studio as well as supervision of students in the recording studio. Preference will be given to applicants with guitar and/or bass as a principal instrument. The successful candidate will also work with other faculty as well as diverse community musicians and music groups to create a greater culture of alternative, popular, and commercial music styles within the music program and on campus. |
Competencies/Knowledge Skills, and Abilities Required in this Position | A master's degree in music or sound recording technology is preferred. Minimum requirements include a Master's Degree with 18 hours in chosen discipline, or equivalent professional experience. Evidence of experience within the music industry and the ability to teach music industry and/or music technology courses is required. Possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals and constituencies. Must be committed to excellence in student learning and the ability to promote students' ability to succeed in a multicultural and global community. |
