JOB LOCATION: Raleigh, NC
POSITION: Principal Engineer, Software
POSITION DESCRIPTION: Hill-Rom Company, Inc., a Baxter company, is seeking a Principal Engineer, Software with the following duties:
- Provides technical contribution within the software engineering discipline to lead requirements development, software implementation, root cause analysis, and testing activities for an assigned product, project, or solution
- Provides guidance to other engineers on their technical issues, engages in design reviews, and help resolves problems of medium complexity
- Develops software architecture and design for back-end services using a variety of technologies
- Utilize software development tools for life cycle management including IDE’s, source control tools, and task tracking.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Engineering or related field plus 5 years of related experience
- Will accept any level of experience in the following skills:
- Design and develop software architecture for back-end services using Microsoft .NET Technologies and other Cloud framework
- Conduct technical feasibility study on device connectivity and document the solution. Develop application prototypes using C#, Python, WinForms, Windows CE, HTML, HTML5, Javascript, Ajax, Jquery and CSS
- Implementation of software application in C#, Python, .NET Core, REST APls for back-end windows-based services to process data from connected products
- Design new database tables, stored procedures, views and maintain existing database in SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB
- Perform unit testing, integration testing and system testing of software application to ensure software is behaving as per requirement using Visual Studio Test cases, Nunit and Postman tools
- Configure automated CI/CD pipeline for medical device software applications using Azure cloud Pipeline Builds, Releases and Git source control
- 30% remote work allowed. Must live within normal commuting distance of the worksite. 5-10% domestic travel required.
Competitive compensation and benefits.
We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all our employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. To that end, this position has a base salary range of $151,986 – $168,000 plus an annual incentive bonus. The above range represents the expected base salary range for this position. The actual salary may vary based upon several factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills/experience, time in the role, business line, and geographic/office location.
