As a core member of the Human Resources in Human Resources(HR) Transformation Program, you will deliver HR service assistance to the HR community, business managers and employees. You will process complex and escalated HR requests related to multiple service lines for an assigned group of employees. This role is focused on the CAPRUS region for ABB (Canada, Puerto Rico, United States). In this role, you will be leading the functional data validation, integration testing support, and functional testing activities ensuring alignment with the design of Workday modules and ABB's future HR processes. It is about fully unleashing and harvesting the opportunities of moving from today's dispersed Human Capital Management (HCM) landscape to an operating model that builds on a single Workday instance with best-of-breed add-ons yielding a superior user experience for employees, managers, HR professionals and candidates. This is a project role that will end mid-2025. A permanent assignment in the post-project support team will be assessed in due course. This role is open to remote candidates.

Functional Workstream Lead (CA-PR-US)

Your responsibilities

  • Project manage all aspects of the Workstream deliverables according to program timelines and budget. Ability to coordinate and direct team members to ensure project plan is achieved
  • Collaborate with Function stream colleagues and Technical stream colleagues and to understand business processes, integrations and system configuration
  • Develop and execute testing strategy, test planning, test case scenarios, and successfully navigate test execution to ensure functional design requirements are met
  • Monitor and analyze testing outcomes, providing recommendations for continuous improvement
  • Provide expertise and support the integration testing within the CAPRUS functional team, ensuring seamless connectivity and data flow between Workday and other integrated systems
  • Work with cross-functional teams to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve integration issues and errors identified in testing
  • Oversee the CAPRUS Functional workstream validation of data accuracy and integrity within the Workday system, with special focus on payroll history validation and data migration mapping.
  • Ensure the quality of processes and workflows: Meet the business and legal requirements, globally and locally. Ensure adequate involvement of global and local contributors/stakeholders by conducting workshops and engagement activities
  • Adhere to Design principles and program guidelines
  • Fulfill all requirements on security, documents, integrations, documentation, etc
  • Comply with audit requirements: Internal Control over Financial Reporting (ICoFR), General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other regulations for access to and use of personal data within ABB
  • Consider dependencies with other functional workstreams, cross-functional specialists, governance specialists and technical specialists to ensure the outside-in perspective, further: adequate documentation, testing and cutover
  • Be a champion in innovation, efficiency and effectiveness
  • Lead effectively through a performance management culture that drives the company's values and successfully meets/exceeds all relevant targets and objectives within the business
Your background

  • Undergraduate/graduate degree in Business Management, HR or related discipline
  • 8 plus years of work experience and specialize knowledge of HR in roles at large technological and industrial companies with complex organizations and multi-cultural management
  • Proven HR project and design experience by having successfully operated, designed, optimized, automated, deployed, and measured HR business processes of a global scope in the domain of the given workstream - with significant aspects of complex implementation, organizational transformation, and ambitious value creation targets
  • Proven experience in leading implementation testing, with a focus on data validation, integration, and security testing
  • Experience with Workday and implementing Payroll/Time/Absence module of Workday is desirable
  • Knowledge of CA/PR/US Payroll, Time and Absence Regulations is highly favorable
  • Extremely structured thinking and strong communication skills to convince HR professionals, line managers and employees globally of the solutions delivered by Project Fusion and drive the change towards a common plan and timelines. Ability to structure and convey complex messages, urgency and insights into meaningful action plans

US only: While base salary is determined by things such as the successful applicant's qualifications and experience, this position is expected to pay between $111,300 and $206,700 annually and is eligible for a short-term incentive plan/annual bonus.
